As many other comments have said, the service is very attentive. I've never been tended to so much in any restaurant and it was very interesting. My fiance ordered the lamb rogan josh and I ordered the butter chicken. The meat quality for both dishes were very abundant and well cooked. Both curries were pretty good, I ordered medium spicy and I didn't find it spicy at all. My fiance and I havr a fairly high spice tolerance. I would come back again to try everything a bit spicier.

The food was incredible! Probably one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to. The favors were really fresh in every dish. My husband said that every bite was like biting in HD hahahah. We had the chicken tandoori and chicken mahkani. Both were amazing. We also had the garlic naan which i highly recommend. We even got the chili garlic naan to go. Glen was our server and he was so attentive and kind. He cracked some funny jokes when offering dessert. Dinner and entertainment lol! He even gave us little complementary cocktails which were also super tasty. The owner checked on us as well during our meal. You can tell they really care about their customers and want to make sure you have a great experience. I'm so sad we're moving and I only got try this place once but if we ever come back we will absolutely enjoy another meal here!

The best service I've ever had in recent 10 years. The staffs were attentive and thoughtful, and the manager was very friendly. I feel welcomed and cherished. Main dishes and appetizers were very delicious. I went with my friends (both from India). They both enjoyed the food. Everything was nicely prepared. We look forward to come again. The only downside was their dessert. The kulfi was very icy and doesn't have the texture or taste that kulfi supposed to have. Chocolate cake was bad. Tasted like "store-bought" cake. Ras malai was acceptable because it was soft and nice, but the flavor was a bit lacking and it was too sweet. Other than that, the ambiance of the restaurant was elegant and welcoming. Notably, they have an outstanding list of liquor. Will definitely come again.

From decor to service and the food, everything was amazing! We came in around 3:40pm and were greeted and seated promptly towards the back sunroom area. The interior design of the restaurant was very clean and aesthetic. It was a bit warm but it was fine. I ordered a mango beverage that had vodka in it and it was phenomenal. To start with ordered the shrimp pakora and it was delicious. I was unable to get a picture because we began eating right away. For main courses, we ordered two and shared each. We ordered the full sized Chicken Makhani (butter chicken). It was great, we asked for it to be a 7/10 spice level, however it was more so around a 3/10. I wish it had a bit more heat but now I know to ask next time! The other entree we chose was the crab and shrimp tikka masala, which was equally just as delicious. Of course we added on 2 orders of the garlic naan and added on 1 more to go. To finish off dinner, I ordered Kulfi which is a in house made ice cream with condensed milk, almonds/pistachios, and rose water. It was refreshing but I think the rose water flavor is not for me personally. This was my first experience trying Indian cuisine and I am glad I chose this restaurant. We had 1 main waiter, however the whole staff was very friendly and all equally helpful throughout our meal. Will definitely come back and try other dishes! 10/10 for service, food, ambiance, and overall experience.

Everyone needs to run to try this place. Beyond it being amazing Indian food this place truly has some of the best food I've had in the world. Seriously! The flavors of all the food were mind blowing. The spice we asked for was delivered and everything was incredible. My favorite thing I had was the shrimp. The sauce it came with I put on all the rice and dipped the naan in there as well. Not only was the food great but the aesthetic was so fancy. I felt like I was in a very fancy hotels restaurant. Everyone was so kind and ensured we had an incredible experience.

I went here last week for lunch. We arrived a little bit after 11:30 am when they opened. I haven't been to Royal Taj since 2018 when they had a lunch buffet. Upon entering the restaurant, I had forgotten how extravagant the restaurant is. We were greeted and seated right away. We had the option of tables so I chose to sit with the liquor. Of course I forgot to take pictures. We ordered the samosas and chili garlic naan for our appetizers. For my main meal, I ordered a full order of lamb vindaloo. You have a choice of ordering half or full. For some reason, I thought the full would have been a generous portion but it looked like a half portion to me. Regardless of the size, it was still tasty. And the samosas and chili garlic naan were delicious too. There were a lot of servers that refilled our water glasses continuously.

Some of the best and most sophisticated Indian food I've had, amazing restaurant! Our table ordered Onion Bhajia and Chaat Papri for appetizers. Both tasted wonderful, although the Onion Bhajia took some time to grow on me. For entrees, we ordered Lamb Roganjosh, Malai Kofta, and their special Chilean Sea Bass. All tasted incredible. My favorite dish was the Chilean Sea Bass, with the curry sauce tasting subtle compared to the other ones yet so unique and comforting. We also got Kashmiri Naan and Rosemary Naan. The Kashmiri Naan took me off guard, it was SO delicious!! Ambiance was elegant and well-decorared. One only thing was we felt a bit rushed by our waiters/waitresses, and was interrupted frequently during the meal. Overall, we had a fantastic experience, and will definitely be back!

I feel so 'royal' when eating at Royal Taj, no pun intended. Seriously, I don't know why it took me so long to write a review for Royal Taj when it's single handedly the best Indian restaurant in Maryland. When anyone asks me recommendations for Indian restaurants, I will literally always say Royal Taj. When you walk in you're already greeted with either the manager or one of his very attentive staff members. I have never waited around at Royal Taj, no matter what day or time it is. That's truly impressive. I've gone here multiple times and the food does not disappoint! I've gotten dishes from Dal Makhani, Shahi Paneer, Malai Kofta, Chili Paneer, and they have all been mouth watering delicious. But honestly, I truly rate Indian restaurants on how great their raita is and wow *chefs kiss.* I will always get the raita here and is probably the best I've had in Maryland. The food is not the only or main reason why I enjoy coming here. The service is seriously impeccable. In my years of eating out, I have never have this great of service anywhere! The manager is always giving out free glasses of wine, champagne, or dessert. He will literally walk you out the door to ensure your experience at Royal Taj has been enjoyable. Tell me any other restaurant that will do that. The prices are on the steeper end, but honestly you're getting what you pay for.
